Hi Everyone...
Here is an interesting problem...
We are preparing for a enterprise rollout of Outlook 2003 client. We have been
operating Outlook 2000 client on our Exchange 2003 backend servers (two
servers) for some months with no problems... However once we have a mixture of
clients we seem to be experiencing some rather concerning and unpredictable
issues. The companies life blood is email and calendaring...
It appears that an appointment is set up on a 2003 client when viewed and
accepted on a 2000 client the results are unpredictable but are normally one or
more of the following:.
1. The reminder tick does not carry over on the appointment
2. On accepting an invitation it appears in the recipients calendar then will
disappear later (no it is not deleted by the user!). It shows in the 2003
sender Client as being accepted but as not busy when it should be busy.
3. People who use both Clients 2000 and 2003 find appointments appearing in one
client but not in the other, typically in the 2003 it is OK but on the 2000
client the appointments are gone..
4. People receiving invitations on a 2000 client from a 2003 client get error
messages saying that a request has been removed or deleted.
It should be stated that not all these problems appear on all PC's and some
PC's "appear" to be problem free.
We need to rollout Office 2003 in a phases due to the number of sites and PC's
involved ...
Does anyone know of these issues or how to resolve the problems at least for
the period of the rollout (about 1-2 months).
Any help would be gratefully accepted
regards
