Exchange doesn’t support what you are looking for, having
a mailbox replicated to multiple locations and allowing the user to access
either of them. Essentially, a user can only have one “active” mailbox
on Exchange. With Exchange 2007 you can setup replication (CCR or SCR) of
all mailboxes in a database/store but this is really only for HA/DR purposes. In E2k7 you could script something to “activate” the
user’s mailbox in the US when they are in the US, but this would be a complex
script and NOT something I would recommend! With that said, Outlook and Exchange 2003 (and higher) support
accessing mailboxes over the Internet via HTTPS, as long as you allow external
access to Front End or CAS servers. Using Outlook cached mode a user in
the US could access their mailbox in India without noticing any real
delays. Although, if they send or receive a large message it will take a longer
for it to be sent or appear in their Inbox, since the bandwidth with their
server will be less then when they are accessing their server locally. But larger companies like Microsoft , HP, and many others have consolidated,
almost all, of their Exchange servers to locations in the US. All users
global then access those servers over their internal network or over the
Internet, when outside the corporate network. This is a much easier and
better solution than trying to replication mailbox data around the world. Jason Sherry - Technology

Behalf Of Greg Mulholland YMMV depending on which version of exchange you are using, or
planning to use. From:

Behalf Of Mitul Zaveri Hi All: I have a situation where we would like to have Exchange
Server at 2 locations. We currently have Exchange Server in U.S and plan to
host one more Server in India. Users will be same at both locations. We would
like a provisioning where users can access their mailboxes at either locations
and access their mails. For e.g. In case a User is in U.S he will access the
mailboxes from U.S server while if he is India he will access the server from
India Server. Hence I would like to know whether the above given scenario
is possible to implement. If yes how do we maintain data consistency at both
locations. Thanks & Regards Mitul Zaveri
