Don't do it through Active Directory.
This can be done with delegates. Through outlook you can assign delegates and 
then there you can assign rights to that delegate.

Outlook --> Tools --> Options --> Delegates TAB

Simply and effective!

I need to give someone access to another users mailbox but I want them to only 
have read access.
It doesn't seem to work unless I give Full Mailbox rights. Any ideas?
