[etni] letters and grades

I'd like to make a repeated request for sample letter forms: informal,
semi-formal and formal and clear specifications as to when each one is used. I
have students taking the new modular exam this spring and don't want to wase
the precious little time I have till then trying to "guess" which letter fits
which situation. Obviously, it's the semi-informal letter that' still has me
confused.
One more thing, I have to admit at this point, that while I am in favor of most
of the NBA, for the very mathematically challenged, figuring out grades for
the different modules is a nightmare ...even after Michele's seemingly simple
explanation. Please don't tell me it's really easy, because if I were to be
tested today as our kids are, I'd have lots of "hatamot" regarding math.
