I don't know what your point is.

"I Have a Dream" has 1,531 words. The Proclamation of
Independence of the State of Israel has around 1,077
words, depending how you translate it.

No one is asking our students to write at this level
of complexity or this length.

The point that I have been trying to make for the last
two years (and I hear echoes from other teachers) is
that 120 words is not enough to develop a topic into a
well formed essay (introduction - body - conclusion). 

If the Ministry of Education wants to lower the
writing standards to an "extended note", then let's
tell the truth about it. Please, let's not call a
piece of writing with 120 words "an essay".

Btw, viva la huelga!
