Jennifer's idea of a survey is a very good tool to get to know were we all stand. I would add a few more questions: Do the pupils get their books from Hashalat Sefarim (on loan) or independently? Does you school have Orange classes (=all kids with personal laptops instead of notebooks+books)? How many such classes and at what levels? Does the school have a computer lab *and* are you able to use it for projects etc.? Would you leave the Irgun/Histadrut in order to join an English Teachers Union?
