Subject: Dictionaries
The choice of dictionaries is a thorny one. I wonder how many
students choose the English/English/ Hebrew? I would imagine that
most will go for the other one, which gives them the possibility of
looking up words in Hebrew – and leading to “He put his clothes in the
coffin.” Yes, I have had that one.
The electronic dictionaries don’t give as much information as does the
Oxford; nor does the English /Hebrew Hebrew/English.
What do other teachers think? what do they advise their students?
