I agree that you should ask the kid whether he wants it in English or in
Hebrew but if a kid has an electronical milonit it only comes in Hebrew so
there's no option there.
What do you when a word has multiple definitions or is more than one part of
speech (both a verb and a noun but only one of them will give the correct
definition). Do you read all the different choices or just the correct one
to solve the puzzle? In the milonit version you need to scroll down to see
the definition of the Verb and then Noun and so forth... I think the tester
should read immediately the correct definition of the word as not to
complicate things more than they already are.

If a kid asks you to look up a word for him or her, you should probably as
them if they want the definition read to them in English or if they want
the Hebrew. My terribly ld daughter needed the definition read to her in
English. She had to explain that to the tester, a teacher in school who
hadn't taught her. It would have been nice had the tester asked if she
wanted the definition in English. The real ld kids go through enough grief.
Oral testers need to be sensitive to that.

Regarding the oral testing rules.

1) Testers must look up requested words for students in their dictionary.
But if they have a dispensation for a milonit, should one type out the
word, if the student requests?

The tester looks up the word and reads the answers to the
pupil

2) Are those scanners now legal [the little wands which when passed over the
word gives a meaning]?

only the ones that don't make a sound
