An online course is a course that is taken online through a website
specially for distant learning. Each participant gets a login code and has
access to the files of the course in which s/he is taking. The assignments
and materials are posted in the website as well as a very useful forum to
discuss assigments and other issues concerning the course taken.
From my own experience these kinds of courses are more useful than other
courses since the teacher gets to share experiences and ideas with other
teachers from all over the country, not just his own region, in the field of
that course (much like etni but in more specific issues, and with a gmul).
