Long but interesting article in *Tufts Magazine* about the cultural
differences among 11 regions of America, their historical background and
their current influence, especially on social issues involving violence.

The impact of these differences on the 2016 election in the US is probably
more easily understood by someone who has lived there but the article
should be of interest even to those who have never been there. The article
