Three species of swallows (Tree, Barn, Northern Rough-winged) cavorting over thelake this evening. Total numbers hard to estimate with their motion, maybe 3 or 4dozen? Seemed like high insect activity was the draw, as even walking along lakepath one had to be careful to now plow open-mouthed through a cloud of them. (I did not see a Bald Eagle which was reported on eBird earlier today.) Jay WherleyAsheville reply to jrw at sphinx dot org
