Based on the gazillion white oak acorns in our yard I'd say this does seem to be a bumper crop. As wildlife prefer white oak acorns to other acorns I'm guessing it should be a good winter for deer, bear, grouse and other animals that eat acorns assuming this bumper crop is widespread.
