[EMAS] Roan Highlands Highlights, 5/14/2016

Hiked the Roan Highlands Balds this weekend, from Carver's Gap North to 19E
(about 15 miles).   One of the most Beautiful hikes of the South!    Very
birdy too!  Had 10 species of Warblers and many other high elevation
specials.



*Highlights included:*


Alder Flycatchers

Vesper Sparrows

singing Hermit Thrushes, Winter Wrens and Golden Crowned Kinglets

many Rose-breasted Grossbeaks (over one per mile)

Least Flycatchers

Canad Warblers

Veerys

Many Chestnut-sided Warblers

Brown Creepers

Barred Owls

Ravens

a single Eastern Wood Pewee

and many more...
