I returned to Biltmore today for a picnic lunch with Pat. There was nothing
like the number of swallows over the Lagoon or over the nearby French Broad.
Mostly Northern Rough Wings and the occasional martin and Cliff swallow. Most
of the swallow action was down below Antler village over the cow field, which
is where I saw another Bank swallow.
For some reason, eBird flagged the two woodpecker spp as rare or unusual. Not
sure why.
See below for birds seen

yesterday.
There were more swallows over the fields down from Antler village, including
those mentioned in the species list.
There was one Bank swallow that I could ID.
I made note of the following.
Bird was noticeably smaller than the frequent NRW swallows and female Tree
swallows
Bird flew with a more buoyant flight, with frequent swings upwards for a yard
or so
Back and wings were noticeably two toned, with back being lighter. Wings were
darker than close by NRW.
White throat and breast band were noted but less useful for ID than the above.
