The sun broke through the fog around 9:45 am this morning, and that got the birdsinto high gear. An abundance of Yellow-Rumped Warbers in all locations. Redheadson the lake, with at least one Ring-necked Duck in their midst; nearby 3 Pie-billedGrebes. 4 woodpecker species: Pileated, Red-bellied, Downy, and Yellow-belliedSapsucker. Also one Brown-headed Nuthatch near the N. overlook. After seeing Red-shouldered Hawk(s?) perched and flying over with catch, I espied the paircopulating far across Merrimon, N. of wooden bridge. Along with the Song Sparrows were a few Swamps, White-throated, and a single Fox Sparrownear the wooden bridge.
