Yeah, I have been looking at that site quite a bit. It made me laugh when you pull the pickups and look at their summary, the best 2 mid sized pickups for mileage are the 2wd Ford Ranger and the 2Wd Toyota Tacoma The 2 worst mileage trucks in that same class are the 4WD Ford Ranger and the 4WD Toyota Tacoma.

They have the Chevy rated at like 15 and the Tacoma around 20, neither notes cab size or the DOD nor could I find the hybrid version (not that I want to spend that much)

Problem is the cost of a truck today is ridiculous. You can spend $60,000 on a crew cab diesel, or $12k on a 2wd V6 reg cab work truck Silverado.

Yup but that truck isn't meant as a car it's meant to work. And you won't think about engine work until well after 250K.

I do really like the new Tundras, the Rock edition on the lot is pretty awesome looking, if I had the ability and desire to spend the $38,000 to buy one.

Hadn't heard of those. Course with cars the profit is in the features. Saw one that had nearly 3k in stereo stuff and it was a crappy sounding stereo but you could plug your ipod into it and the speakers had colored lights and you could change the colors. If we were able to buy (relatively) base models we could get allot more for our $ that way.
