[ee_shoppahs] Linux Question

OK all you Guru's, here's, and I will admit, a naive question on my part.
I down loaded and installed Xilinx ISE and EDK on Redhat Linux.
According to instructions the executable is ise, within the ISE directory.
Since this is a binary I have no idea why it does not execute.
I have set the DISPLAY and all but it tells me something like ...elf... is
unknown.
Not sure what that means or if it is even an error or what.
So, how do you invoke ISE on Linux using a bash shell.
