Terri,
Hi, Jean,
Importing a .brf file created on the BrailleNote into DBT is tricky. In order to be sure DBT recognizes all the data, you must import the document as a Duxbury Coded Braille file. When you open the document, tab to the import filter go to the "Duxbury coded braille" and press enter.
When documents are created on a BN or other notetaker, DBT doesn't see the line endings and page endings. This is because the codes produced by the notetakers are not recognized by DBT.
I have imported .brf files created on the BN into DBT for many years so if you need more information, let me know.

Subject: [duxuser] importing BRF
Okay. I'm working through my course on DBT and it's going great. But I need to ask a question for which I haven't had experience yet.
I want to create a braille document on my BrailleNote using the formatted
.BRF format. I don't have a spare serial cable to emboss directly from the
BN, so I intend to move the file to the PC and emboss directly through
Duxbury.
So, I open the braille file and choose emboss. That's easy. But will the
paper size and characters per line and lines per page, etc. in the BRF file
be preserved automatically, or do I need to change anything with the
embosser setup in DBT? I assume what I have set in the original BRF file
will be honoured.
Jean
