As George alluded to, automatically-generated numbers have to be handled in
a special way. They are not stored with the text of the document but,
rather, the information has to be fetched from elsewhere in the file, and
DBT's Word importer keeps its own counters. Anyway, there was a bug in 10.4
with the counters not always being incremented properly; I think that the
situation has been improved for the upcoming 10.5 release.
