Susie I am a TVI and I took an online course which Hadley school was offering
free of charge. I don't know if they are still offering it but even if they are
NOT perhaps if they can send you the workbook it would be useful. If it is ok
with them I can scan and send it to you.
My students are braille challenge winners and they are not mentioning anything,
but that might be because they are just overlooking it or figure it is me that
made the mistake?!
Transcribers and TVIs, NO OFFENSE intentioned toward either group have
different standards. If I can get materials to my students which are
understandable, good braille I am ok, but I know that the transcribers are much
more attentive and diligent, especially about formatting. I am glad they are!!

Good Morning,
I am a full-time translator for APH and my own personal company DOT Over DOT.
No program is 100%, however there are times that the translation can misread
the meaning of standalone characters or mathematical equations. Over all the
translation is 90% correct. If you need a reference point for UEB there are
many materials out there for use and would be glad to recommend them.

Subject: [duxuser] UEB question
Have any of you received any kind of training on UEB?
I am a teacher of the visually impaired who uses Duxbury to create braille for
my students. I have received no training whatsoever on UEB. I have assumed that
Duxbury is creating the UEB documents correctly. But some of my co-workers
(both teachers and certified transcribers) say that Duxbury is making some
mistakes in the translation. Is there any documentation anywhere that shows
what mistakes Duxbury is making? Do we know if Duxbury is working to fix these
mistakes? Are they aware of mistakes?
