Hope the above is helpful to you and to Jayne. I have regularly seen situations where a miss-spelled word has been accepted in error, and as far as Word is concerned - that's it! Check again, and it won't find any errors. George. The easiest thing to do is press F7 which activates the spell checker. However, if you want the red squiggly lines under misspelled words, you'll want to make sure Word is checking spelling as you type, or in your situation, is indicating suspect words on an imported file. Click the Office Button in the upper left corner Click on Word Options, which appears on the bottom bar of the screen that pops up Choose Proofing in the left panel Check the option that says "Check spelling as you type" under "When correcting spelling and grammar in Word" I recommend you uncheck the grammar checking in this same section, as you don't need Word telling you it thinks the author used incorrect grammar.
