George, if I understand the question correctly:

From within Microsoft Word go to:
        tools
        options
        spelling and grammer page
Then tab about 12 times across to "recheck document" button and press enter.

Hope the above is helpful to you and to Jayne.

Christine

Hi Susan,

The question I have, and I suspect Jayne too, is how do you force Word to re-spell check a document?

I have regularly seen situations where a miss-spelled word has been accepted in error, and as far as Word is concerned ? that?s it! Check again, and it won?t find any errors.

George.

Jayne,

You have a couple of options to run the spell checker. The easiest thing to do is press F7 which activates the spell checker. However, if you want the red squiggly lines under misspelled words, you'll want to make sure Word is checking spelling as you type, or in your situation, is indicating suspect words on an imported file.

Click the Office Button in the upper left corner
Click on Word Options, which appears on the bottom bar of the screen that pops up
Choose Proofing in the left panel
Check the option that says "Check spelling as you type" under "When correcting spelling and grammar in Word"

I recommend you uncheck the grammar checking in this same section, as you don't need Word telling you it thinks the author used incorrect grammar.

Subject: [duxuser] Spell check

Hi
I scanned a document using OpenBook, saved it as a Bana 2003 document. (I have 2007) The text came out fine, but the spell checker is off. How can I put it back on to check the spelling? Would I have to wait until I import it into Duxbury and check it from their?
Any help would be appreciated,
