Hi Maurice,

For the benefit of all, we appear to have resolved Maurice's
first problem by simply reselecting the "English (British) -
with capitals" Template, and pressing "Mark Template as
Default".

Now to answer the second question, and in this example I'll
use middle c's.

Since DBT's default templates are protected from
modification, we will be creating a new Template.

1) Open a new, blank print document using the Template which
closest suits your needs.

2) From DBT's Document menu, select "Add Style".

3) In the "New Style Name" box, give your style a name which
has no spaces, and ends in a full stop or period. I called
mine "MiddleC." (without the quotes of course. {The period
after the name indicates that this will be a paragraph
style.}

4) I unchecked "Can be nested within another Style".

5) Click OK.

6) You will now be presented with a dialog asking you to
enter Beginning and Ending Codes.

7) In the Beginning Codes, hold down the Ctrl key and tap [
(Left Square Bracket) and type hds {[hds] is the code for
"Begin Centering

8) Press the End key, hold down the Ctrl key and tap [ (Left
Square Bracket) and type q~3333333333 {[q~ is the Code for
direct braille and 3 will generate a middle c. If I'm not
mistaken 99 will generate a UK braile asterisk.}

9) Navigate to the end "Ending Codes" text box, hold down
the Ctrl key and tap [ (Left Square Bracket) and type hde
{[hde] ends the centering}

10) Click the OK button to save the Style.

If you stop here, the new Style will only apply to this
document. However, remember that in later versions of DBT
you now have the option to save text in a Template.

11) From DBT's Document menu, select "Create Template".

12) Give your Template a name, bearing in mind that the list
of Templates appears in alphabetical order.

13) Click OK.

14) Close the document, open a new one using your new
template and test your new Style.

George.

Hi All,
I have a number of small Duxbury queries and wonder if
anyone can assist.
1. I have DBt set up to print using Englis/British
with Capitals.
However, When In word, if I use the "Emboss Direct"
feature, No Capitals
appear. Everything else is fine but just no caps. So, Can
anyone tell me
whether this is a glitch or whether there's not meant to be
capitals
available using this function.

2. Using other Braille translators, some have a
facility to put a
centered row of Middle C's either at the end of a heading or
at the end of a
document and a Centred row of Asterisks to denote section
Breaks. Is
this possible in Duxbury.

Thanks.
