Rob I also find a lot of people are not active or only look at the DNA from
time to time … so

This may be something that others have overlooked but one of the best things
you can do with your AncestryDNA is to contact your highest matches and ask
them for access to the matches from their test..

When you go to your DNA page you have a

This is where you change tests and if someone has granted you access – you can
change to view their test.

I have about 40 kits showing in my list..

This is the request I send to my highest matches on each test I administer

If you are ok with granting guest access to your DNA matches on Ancestry,
it would NOT give me any access to change anything and I wouldn’t have your
DNA…

But it would show me who is in the matches..

I can run a compare and it will give me a list of common matches.

To grant me guest access you would go to the SETTING button on the DNA test page

My Ancestry username is DarrylBrady07

I would email you any findings.

I only ever ask for Guest access but if they are wanting more help you can get
Edit access and put notes against any of the matches that you are working on.

This is also good for people who have no idea about what to do next as I can
give them clues on where to start looking.

Now the fun stuff…. USE GOOGLE CHROME and the AncestryDNA Helper add-on

Then you get this extra icon next to the VIEW MATCH (Hover over it and you get
all the kits that this match is common in the kits you have access too)

Makes working out the possible connection so much easier.

If anyone is wanting more info please ask and I will endeavour to help.

G'day again, ALL ...

First things, first ... an Ancestry DNA update ...

The closest match I'd spotted and contacted did reply to my email today and
we've already compared notes between Perth & Geelong via phone.

Long story short ... he only paid for one year's Ancestry subscription about 4
years ago and still checks in for DNA hits every now and then.
