My ears perked up at the reference to Otago.
The heroine of my book, the Brig Sea Nymph, was there in 1861 during the
war against Wi Kingi in Taranaki.
When the vessel returned to Australia, her Master, William Morrison, was
the major source of information about the war for the Australian public.
The Sea Nymph made a number of trips back to Otago over the next few years.
