[dokuwiki] how to use filenames of media with native case

Hello,

Problem:
i want to provide files into media folder without uploading them through the media manager. If i edit a page and open the media manager i can see the files with their "native" filename. I can also click on them to place a media link onto the page, and also this link has the "original" filename. But if i try to open the media file on the saved page it says "Not found", because it looks for a lowercase variant of that file. 

Question:
Is there a way to tell dokuwiki to not mangle (lowercase) the filename?
