[dokuwiki] PHP 5 vs. PHP 4

Hello,

I just stumbled across an article [1] that mentions abandoning PHP 4 object
model in PHP 6. Actually, they even made a nice joke about 5.3.0:

    "The PHP 4 object model compatibility was only available after 5.0.0
    and was removed in PHP 5.3.0..."

This doesn't seem to be the case, but it made me wonder. Are there any plans
to move DokuWiki to PHP 5 class syntax? Is it okay to use PHP 5 for the new
stuff (plugins) or PHP 4 compatibility is still a must?
