Aw, *blush*, don't make me go Halle Berry on y'all... I think POW came out quite well - it has it's flaws but it was ambitious and we mostly pulled it off I think. Much credit must go to the composer I was working with, Christopher Slaski, whose input was excellent and gave me great source material to work with. I'm just mostly excited about the next one now, because it's an opportunity to put right all those flaws! As for our plug-in, that's something we've thought about a lot. We're keen to encourage people to use it for two reasons. First, I'm personally a big believer in what DM can do for websites and want other people to see it the way I see it! Second, we would obviously like to develop business in that area if possible. For the time being our approach is basically that if people want to use the plug-in for their sites they can, and we will supply the necessary bits of HTML, Javascript etc to help them do so free of charge, on condition that the control is visible with our logo and link to our site. A couple of people are in the process of developing content on this basis at the moment. Our aim is to help people to create a range of sites which will help us to show better what the technology can do and take it from there. It should also help us accumulate more information about any remaining bugs so we can get them fixed asap. Congrats, Ciaran! I heard an early version of the music last year which was very cool so I'm looking forward to the full-meal deal. =20 I'd like to commend you too on what a great demo you have at widesounds.com. If some independent web producer wanted to take advantage of your interactive music plug-in, what would they do? =20 David Yackley This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. -----Original Message----- From: Ciaran Walsh [mailto:ciaran@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx]=20 Sent: Wednesday, July 31, 2002 2:51 AM To: directmusic@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [directmusic] Hello everyone! I'm back finally after being blocked for spamming that I didn't do! Thanks to Bjorn's tireless "Free The Brighton One" campaign it all got sorted out so I'm looking forward to getting involved again... A quick and shameless plug if I may - "Prisoner of War" came out the week before last in Europe and the Xbox version is worth checking out for it's DirectMusic. The PC version will also be out soon and the music works the same way. Only the damn PS2 spoiling my fun... ;) Cheers, Ciaran ************************************************************************ * Ciaran Walsh Creative Director Wide Sounds 20 Old Steine Brighton BN1 1EL www.widesounds.com / www.widegames.com Tel: +44 (0)1273 686555 Fax: +44 (0)1273 818652 Mob: +44 (0)777 339 4402 ************************************************************************ * Confidentiality Notice and Disclaimer: The contents of this e-mail and any attachments are intended only for the use of the e-mail addressee(s) shown.
