[delphizip] Passwords in a Unicode world

Zip passwords (pathetically weak as they are) are byte values which is
reasonable under Ansi but how do I handle them in Unicode?
My present conversions for C2009 & D2009 convert to AnsiString (current
CodePage) and use that but I fear the translation makes them less
reproducable.
In theory the password must work with other programs too.
Any ideas?
