Hey remember, you can handle lots of voltage, as in hundreds of thousands from a Vandigraf Generator, but there's practically no amperage in that static charge. However, you can get killed or severely injured by 12 volts with enough amperage if you become part of the circuit.

I can't help with the problem, but I'm curious to know what power
conditioner you're using?  I keep meaning to get one and I can never
sort out just exactly what I need, it's a mess trying to figure out
what's available and what it does.
