thanx Dan,I've been using those MIDI effects lately, but didn't bother looking at the Quantize effect-figured sonar quantize was all I would need. I also found something that does the job fairly well--its the "humanize.cal" file that you can run from process\run cal. Speaking of Cal, is there any info on how to write cal scripts out there? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dan Rugman" <danrugman@xxxxxxxxxxx>

Phil,There's a second quantise tool buried in the process menu. Its under midi effects and then under cakewalk. This quantise has a randomise option but its pritty visual. The best thing would be to set up a few presets with a sighted assistant that could cover all eventuallities.Sorry I couldn't be more help, Dan----- Original Message ----- From: "Phil Halton" <philhalt@xxxxxxxxxxx>To: "ddots-l" <ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, December 12, 2006 5:30 PM Subject: [ddots-l] editting MIDI note durationsHello listers,Is there a way in sonar to "randomize" the durations of midi notes within a certain range? for example, in a string of eigth notes (with a duration of 480 ticks each); I would like to randomize those durations within the range of 420 to 470 ticks for a more "human" feel.I know I can use the "interpolate" function to alter the durations of selected data, but I can only shorten or lengthen the durations--not randomize.Any help is greatly appreciated. ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq]** or send a message, to ** ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq]** or send a message, to ** ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq
