Phil,

There's a second quantise tool buried in the process menu. Its under midi effects and then under cakewalk. This quantise has a randomise option but its pritty visual. The best thing would be to set up a few presets with a sighted assistant that could cover all eventuallities.

Sorry I couldn't be more help,

Dan

Subject: [ddots-l] editting MIDI note durations

Hello listers,

Is there a way in sonar to "randomize" the durations of midi notes within a certain range? for example, in a string of eigth notes (with a duration of 480 ticks each); I would like to randomize those durations within the range of 420 to 470 ticks for a more "human" feel.

I know I can use the "interpolate" function to alter the durations of selected data, but I can only shorten or lengthen the durations--not randomize.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
