Okay Sheila: Here is what you need to do in order to get the MIDI recorded into an audio track. For example: First arm the track with input echo on: Then find out which MIDI output your Motif is sending from, port 1, 2, 3 etc. Then set the first audio track's input to the port of the Motif instrument you intend to record. Make sure that all other MIDI tracks are muted or archived so they don't get recorded into the track too, since they are all created on the Motif. Also, before recording, choose whether you want the track to be stereo or mono. You can run a test to determine how loud or soft the input is with the peak meter through the inspector. Oh Sheila, sorry: I thought these were soft synth tracks. So If I am understanding you correctly, you are trying to record each Motif MIDI track to its own individual audio track? Is that right? or are they already recorded and you are just trying to bounce them down to 1 stereo track. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sheila Styron" <sheilastyron@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>

I am trying to get all the Motif tracks on to an audio track so they won't go on to the vocal tracks being recorded, which has been a problem in the past. Thanks for asking, S

Robert and all,

Thanks for trying to help. These are Motif instrument tracks, and when I go into try and freeze, it says not available. I have tried this with tracks selected and not selected. I have also tried to find a clue in the tutorial, so far without success. Can you think of anything else? I appreciate your
suggestions, sheila On Jul 23, 2012, at 12:29 AM, Robert wrote:

Sheila, You have to freeze Synths before you will have any audio to

Rui,

Thanks very much for reminding me about bouncing tracks. However, even
though I have tracks selected which contain audio data, I am getting an
error message saying the selection contains no data. Any other thoughts?

Thanks, Sheila

Hi Sheila,

Since the tracks are instrument tracks, dont you need first to freeze
them? i mean, to copy them of course?

Well, you can always bounce to track!
select those instrument tracks you want than go to the edit menu to
choose for bounce to track than folow the instructions.

best regards,
Rui

in Sonar

I need to copy several instrument tracks to one audio track, which I
have successfully done in the past. I have checked the manual and cannot figure out what I am doing wrong. I am selecting a series of tracks from
beginning to end, then moving to the track where I want them all to be
copied. I have tried checking that box which says copy to one track, and I
have tried arming the audio track, where I want the synth tracks to be
copied, even though I am only copying not recording. I have tried entering the lowest number track as the tutorial says to do. I'm probably missing
something really simple here, and would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks, Sheila
