To set your keyboard to USA English, press Alt-Shift.
Beware that, if you plan to use a USB-type numpad with your laptop, many
of them don't work. One which I have used successfully with Sonar and Sibelius
is the Micropad 631 from XKeys. One company that sells it is InfoGrip. You
can reach them at 800-397-0921. It should just plug and play. Be sure to set
your laptop to desktop keyboard setting in Jaws, by going to the Basics menu,
typing alt-L to get to Keyboard Layout, and selecting Desktop from the list.

Yes, you will need a full-size PC keyboard or an add-on numpad that works.
Set JAWS to Desktop under "Basics". And, if I'm not mistaken, you'll need to
tell Windows that you're using the keyboard lay-out for the USA. I cannot
remember how to accomplish that however. I think a few other people on the
list will help you with those specifics.

Subject: [ddots-l] caketalking and laptop
hi all,
three months ago I asked about this problem, but I didn't find a solution.
It's with my laptop. I have sonar4 and jaws 5.1 in english. My card is
"mobility10". I tried "classic laptop" and "laptop" and the resolution is 16b.
When I open Sonar, I can jump from a track to the other and some functions
like ctrl!t or ctrl!I are ok. But it's impossible to select a track. Jaws says
only: "alt enter". It's the same with many short cuts.
Next week I must record outside and it would be good if somebody could help
me.
Thank you
Jean-Paul
