Then get one of the USB options from edirol/Roland, at least it'll be compatible with sonar, and from what I hear, they have accessible controll panels. Latency then shouldn't be a big issue (though I'll warn you, you migh run into headaches with chipset incompatibilities and other stuff that laptops are known for).
