Then get one of the USB options from edirol/Roland, at least it'll be
compatible with sonar, and from what I hear, they have accessible controll
panels. Latency then shouldn't be a big issue (though I'll warn you, you
migh run into headaches with chipset incompatibilities and other stuff that
laptops are known for).

Thanks, vary infrormative. I forgot to mention that i am using a Sony Vaio
laptop. (i5 core processor) Right now It's just a home studio as a hobby. I
am mainly going to make instrumentals for an underground group, and a friend
of mine. To make the question easier. What would be the best USB sound card.
On the latency question, I just want it to not be noticeable when I play and
in the recording. I think it just might be a hassle to mess around with the
fire wire interfaces. I probibley do that once I get mor experience.
