Jim, give us a call tomorrow and we can discuss options with you. To get a
summary of basic system information about your computer, try holding down
the Windows Key (that is, the key you press to view the Start Menu) and,
while holding it down, press the Windows Pause key. The Pause key is
usually the right-most key in the line of function keys on the top row of
the desktop keyboard. That is, in the top right-hand corner.

It's a good time to upgrade to Windows7 because you may not be able to find
it very soon. We can still supply it on the DAW's which we supply to
Dancing Dots customers but our own supplier cannot tell us how much longer
they will be able to do so.

If you have less than 4gb of Ram, windows 7 home premium 32bit is fine. If
you have more than 4gb ram, or are planning to use less than 16GB of ram,
then windows 7 home premium 64bit is what you want. If you are planning to
use more than 16gb of ram, you'll need windows 7 pro 64bit.

This is also based on ram assumptions, you'll have to make sure your system
meets the other requirements for your daw, such as CPU speed/cores, hard
drive space, hardware etc.

Subject: [ddots-l] Upgrade questions

Hello I purchased a daw from dancing dots a few years back which is running
xp. I know that I need to upgrade to windows7 but I'm not sure which version
I would need. I'm now using xp professional with jfw 12, sonar 8.5 and
caketalking 8.8 I think is the latest. I did see a windows7 home premium 32
as well as 64 bit. Also, windows7 professional 32 bit. Thanks for any help.
