Hey Jim! Whereabouts do you live, in the UK or the States/elsewhere? Out of interest, if you live in the UK, there's a college in Hereford called the RNC, (The Royal National College), and I studied there for some 2 years, and learnt a great deal about recording, not so much about the computer side, but enough to give me a good kick start in to using Sonar etc. Regards Mike ----- Original Message ----- From: Jim Jackson To: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Saturday, December 16, 2006 8:32 AM Subject: [ddots-l] Slightly OT: Advice needed Hello all, for a while I've had some one come in to my home and give me some one on one training on the art of recording. We talked about such things as where peak meters should be while recording, applying affects, EQ's, compressors etc. However, I could no longer afford to pay this person for the one on one training any longer. Now, my local rehab center is going to pay for me to get what I need in terms of training at a local college of my choice and I would like to know just what I should major in. I know that media arts would be one possibility but I also know that it's a four year degree and I don't know if there's perhaps a two year program that would give me what I need. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ No virus found in this incoming message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
