Please consider the following carefully before you hit the delete key.

As a commercial company who distribute software, we pay for a professional
version of ESET security to protect our Windows server and Exchange server.

We also have the full version of MalwareBytes installed.

Last week, after some strange happenings, I noticed our system trying to access
a particular IP address which MalwareBytes was blocking. This address was in
the Ukraine of all places!

I contacted ESET, who took control of my system, an spent an hour or so on it.
During conversation with the support person, he explained that they are working
full time, 24/7 to keep on top of fraud attempts. Hackers have access to, and
can test their efforts against all known anti-virus and malware programs.

The fact that I am now seeing 2, 3, 4 or more ESET updates every day is pretty
much proof of this.

Fortunately in this case, things were spotted quickly enough to prevent the
entire contents of our bank account from being transferred out - this time!

Such malware attacks areas such as the boot sector, which copy protection
software such as JAWS, Duxbury and such like read as part of their verification
process, resulting in that software thinking it is an illegal copy.

My advice therefore is to look very seriously at your system security - and
look at it NOW - don't put it off until the weekend or whenever you feel you
have time.

George.

Subject: [ddots-l] Serious Problem With Jaws.

Hello all.
It's been a while since I posted on here, but I've had some very strange
problems with jaws recently. I use sonar 8.5 with cake talking 8.8 installed on
a 64 bit machine. Ever since I got it in April of last year, I have not had any
problems, until Monday. When I started up the computer on Monday, jaws asked me
for the authorization code that came with the jaws cd, and it had never asked
for that before until now. It said it was in demmo mode so I entered in the
authorization code and everything seemed fine again. I wasn't on my computer
yesterday so I couldn't check and see if the problem was sufficiently resolved
or not, but I'm just after checking it again a while ago, and again when I
started the computer, jaws told me that it was operating in 40 minute mode,
even though I had activated it the other day using the authorization code that
came with the jaws cd. This is very frustrating as I have never come across
this problem in the last 10 months since I have been using sonar, cake talking
and jaws. So now, I cannot use sonar and cake talking until I get this
resolved. I guess I will have to keep reactivating jaws for the moment.
Has anyone come across this before ? This may not be the right place for
posting this information, but any help with this matter would be much
appreciated.

If all comes to all I can try get in contact with freedom scientific, but I am
quite concerned about this since it has never happened before.

Kind regards,
Josh
