If you want built-in mics, the Sony PCMD50 is nice, or it's smaller brother the PCM10.
I use the Edirol R-09HR which fits in a pocket, records up to 24/96, but does not have good internal mics. I use a pair of DPA 4061's and a small preamp with it.
