    Greg, sounds like you've accidentally turned Solo Dim on, it's a toggle. 
Press Alt-S and you should be straight. Robert.

      I'm using a laptop with windows 7 and sonar 8.5 64 bit and cake talking.
      A motu 8 channel sound card with a focusright expantion module, so we can 
record 16 tracks.
      I have all the inputs set correctly but when I play back and solo a track 
I hear everything.]
      When I playback an individual audio track from the project importing it 
into another sonar project, i get a clean track with just guitar, vocal, piano, 
etc only the sound recorded on that track.
      I can't figure it out.
      Why doesn't soloing the track give me just what's on that track?
