Hi Manny, I don't want to make this a bigger issue than it is, and on this list we are generally pretty good at staying on topic, but as Kevin stated, this is beyond being blind or not; it's just something that weather you are handicap or a perfect human being (if there are such things), it's common sense to follow. We seriously can't live life expecting people to abide by the "O I'm blind" so I can't do it or it's ok to mess up. We can't and shouldn't have to settle for less. But we also can't allow ourselves to fall in that trap of I'm blind so bear with me routine. I don't say this to make anyone feel bad, but to encourage us to (again to quote Kevin), "be on top of our game". It's not about using dictation, allot of people do that nowadays, but whether you are typing, dictating or brailling or in some other way expressing yourself on a public forum, the least you can do is check over your message. Your last message for example had K Talking (the letter k, and the the word talking) instead of CakeTalking, some of us know what you mean, but other people might not. I only bring this up because there are allot of people who already have this idea that because we are blind we can't spell, work, make music, manage our lives etc. lol Finally, and I'll end with this, Don't assume that all of us are blind here on list, there are many types of users, of dancingDots products, and perhaps others who are not users but teachers etc. O, and please don't consider this list private. While it may feel that way, this is as public as it gets! Freelists keeps an archive of all messages sent, and guess what? They are indexed by Google! Go do a search for ddots-l or CakeTalking and JAWS, or some other term that might have been posted often on here, and you'll find the thread on Google. Hope I didn't tick anybody off too badly, but I would like us to be a better community and get things done right. After all, if we don't look out for ourselves, who will? We all know that we are all blind on this list and the phone messes up sometimes so come on guys! The good thing is that this is a private list just for blind people that use sonar I'm K talking so we all understand what happens when there is an incorrect spelling.
