[ddots-l] Inquiry: Sonitus EQ Bandwidth

Hello List,
I must say I've been learning a great deal thanks to Chris's advice and
recommendation of "Golden Ears." While messing around a bit with the Sonitus EQ
today, it occurred to me that I have no clue as to the bandwidth/q settings. Is
there a certain standard that is taken here? Like a q of 1.0 will cover an
octave of frequencies for example?
Any information regarding this matter would be much appreciated. Tips also
welcome. Many thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you.
