  Hey Greg!

I know this stuff is elementary, so if you are already aware of it then I
apologize, but it all helps I think? grin.

Re: using outputs 7&8 on the FW.

You can, of course, use 7&8 if you want, but you've got to enable the drivers
for the in/out puts you wish to use...

You can do this in Sonar, and the FW's ctrl panel:

In Sonar, go to options/audio/drivers tab. There you'll find a checkbox list
for, first, the inputs, which you access with the cursor keys, then tab once,
and you get to the outputs.

Some peeps say that the FW performs better with all the inputs/outputs
activated, but others disagree...
Personally, I only ever have the drivers active for the inputs I'm using at
the time, and I only ever use outputs 1&2, so its quite straightforward...
You can also check the ins and outs in the FW's ctrl panel, ctrl tab along
'til you get to the quote quick start tab quote, and you'll find them listed
there.

You'll find the hotkey for the FW's ctrl panel situated on the left hand side
of the fascia, there's two columns of buttons, its adjacent to the seventh
button, about half way up, sitting on its lonesome between both columns.

  Laters

  Mike
