Can you be more specific? Thick blanket suggests that the higher treble is being reduced or filtered somehow, but it's hard to know really what you're describing.

MP3 is a lossy format, so in theory, it should be inferior to CD, not the other way around.

If you have bit depth and sampling rate options when you burn to CD, make sure they are set to 16 bits and 44.1KHZ.

This might be a silly question but are you playing the mp3 version through the same speakers as the physical CD you burned?

And, have you tried exporting your mix as a stereo 16-bit 44.1K wav file, and burning it to disc with something other than Sonar's burn feature?

Hi List!

I have solved the level problem thanks to Dave and the Boost 11 compressor. I am still having problems with dynamic in the sound. It sounds like there is a thin blanket over the speakers when played on my cd player. I do not face this problem if i export the same project to mp3.
