Just in case some people on here have not received the mass-mail that went out
to DD customers, an updated version of CakeTalking 8.5 is available. This build
is an interim release of CakeTalking, while we continue to work on the next
major version.

With this most recent update of CT, we now have full support for Sonar 8.53.
This includes the redesigned AudioSnap. Since AudioSnap was crash prone in
Sonar 8.52 if you had it enabled on too many tracks at once, anyone that is
interested in using AudioSnap will want to update both Sonar and CakeTalking.

It was possible to install the previous version of CT on Windows 7, but Windows
7 wasn't officially supported. This meant that setup documentation and other
essential bits needed in order to provide a smooth experience were missing, and
a few small CT features were broken. The new updated CT is completely
compatible with Windows 7.

On Sonar studio edition, CT wasn't setting up the toolbars correctly, meaning
that many CT functions wouldn't work. This is fixed.

If you own Sonar 8.5, you can update to Sonar 8.53 for free. If you own
CakeTalking 8.3 or 8.5, then updating to the latest version, CakeTalking 8.5.68
is free, also. In either case, running this new version of CakeTalking (8.5.68)
will require Sonar 8.53.

If you are already running a version of CakeTalking 8.5, you can upgrade by:

1. Downloading and installing the free Sonar 8.53 update from here:
http://www.cakewalk.com/support/kb/reader.aspx?ID=2007012920

2. Once Sonar is updated, you can update CakeTalking by opening the start menu,
selecting all programs, then CakeTalking 8.5, Then CT Web Update.

If you need to upgrade from an earlier version of either Sonar or CakeTalking,
DD is selling all Sonar and CakeTalking upgrades at 20% off through this
Friday. Either call +1-610-783-6692 and press 1 for sales, or send a request to
admin@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hope that this update will be of use while we finish work on our major overhaul
of CakeTalking which will, among other big improvements, include 64-bit support.
