 1. IWD Event- Celebrating Contributions – 7 & 8 March 2012 Challenger 
Institute - Fremantle & Rockingham Campuses - are holding a morning tea at both 
campuses to celebrate the contributions their female students have made to the 
institution, 7 & 8 March respectively.  This is an annual event.

2. IWD Event - Stress-Free Dressing for Women Afternoon Tea – 8 March 2012   
Dalwallinu Community Resource Centre are celebrating International Women's Day 
at an afternoon tea event, with guest speaker Deborah Sawyer, author of 
Stress-Free Dressing.  Learn about good wardrobe choices, look and feel 10 
years younger, and know what to wear for every occasion!   Details:Venue:

3. IWD Event - WA Community Resource Network: Westlink Broadcast - 8 March 
2012 The 2012 International Women’s Day theme inspired the Department of 
Regional Development and Lands’ Community Development Division to support 
Community Resource Centres by connecting outstanding women with regional 
communities.  Three Western Australian women will share their stories of 
challenges and achievements through a state-wide Westlink broadcast on March 8, 
2012.  Our inspiring guest speakers are - Josie Janz, Caroline Robinson and 
Irina Cattalini.   Two broadcasts will be held - Morning broadcast:  10.30 - 
11.15am Afternoon broadcast:  4.00 - 4.45pm  Community Resource Centres are 
holding various celebrations across the State.  They will also collaborate with 
local high schools to allow young regional women to attend the broadcast during 
recess or after school.  Centres will then network with women from other 
regions via videoconferencing.  To find

4. IWD Event - Women Leading Change – 8 March 2012 To celebrate International 
Women’s Day, Edith Cowan University presents the 2012 Edith Cowan Memorial 
Lecture delivered by Mrs Anne Banks-McAllister.  With over 30 year’s experience 
in state and local government , Anne Banks-McAllister was the first female 
director at the City of Nedlands and City of Melville, and now holds the 
position of Chief Executive Officer at the Shire of Peppermint Grove.

5. IWD Event - Celebrating in Traditional & Special Ways – 8 March 2012 Ethnic 
Communities Council of WA is celebrating IWD with the communities.  Please wear

6. IWD Event - 22nd Annual IWD Luncheon: International Year of Sustainable 
Energy for All – 7 March 2012 Extended Families Bullsbrook celebrates women at 
its 22nd Annual Luncheon with special guest speaker, door prize, quizzes, 
raffles.  Each year, honouring a few special local women with a surprise 
presentation of their profile - a snapshot of their life and family by their 
loved ones.  Theme this year is International Year of Sustainable Energy for 
All.  Guests can dress in green, violet and white.  Enjoy dressing up, catching 
up and meeting old friends and making new ones! Details:Venue:  Sports

7. IWD Event - Connecting Women, Inspiring Futures – 8 March 2012 Come and join 
the Northcliffe Family and Community Centre for a delicious morning tea! They 
will be thinking about and planning next year's IWD event.  Bring a poem, a 
song, a story or a plate to share.  If you don't have any of those just bring 
yourself, they will love to see you! Creche available, bookings essential by
