Executive and Research AssistantAPS Level 3/4$51,942 - $62,856 plus 15.4% Super Duties 1. Provide comprehensive executive assistance and office management to the Sex Discrimination Commissioner and Director, Sex Discrimination Team, including diary management, travel/accommodation arrangements, database, file and record management, coordination of communication streams such as correspondence and telephone calls. 2. Undertake less complex research tasks under the direction of, and in consultation with, the Sex Discrimination Commissioner, Director and members of the Sex Discrimination Team. 3.Draft correspondence, speech notes and speeches under the direction of the Sex Discrimination Commissioner and members of the Sex Discrimination Team. 4. Arrange meetings, conferences and interviews and provide a secretariat function as required. 5. Provide budget support to the Commissioner and Director, including processing paperwork, maintaining and acquiring office supplies, and reconciling accounts. Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to write clearly and effectively, for a wide range of audiences and in various styles. 5. Sound oral communication skills, including the ability to liaise with politicians, senior officials, members of the legal profession and the general public. 6. Understanding of political processes and sensitivity in dealing with gender equality and sex discrimination issues.
