Deaf Mental Health Fundraising walk - Fairhaven to Anglesea
Dear friends,

In 2014 Karli Health Centre (formerly Karli Deaf Health) and Deaf Bushwalking
Victoria organised their first ever Deaf Bushwalk event to raise funds for
research and to pave the way for better deaf mental health accessibility,
education and awareness. It was terrific fun, remember those walks last year?

Karli Health has achieved a lot this year so far by starting research on deaf
mental health. The Deaf Victoria team will be completing the research project
and present it at “Lets Talk about Mental Health for Deaf People” conference
on 16 and 17 November. Karli Health would like to continue this trend to stay
on track promoting deaf mental health awareness but this time, reaching out
to other states too.

We are organising another walk this year too!

Melbourne Bushwalk 18 Oct:
15 km walk - Surf Coast Walk, Fairhaven to Anglesea. Come along to experience
the natural beauty in Victoria’s Surf Coast by walking on sand at the beach
and smell the eucalypt forest on the cliffs with like-minded friends for a
healthier body and mind. We will start on foot at Fairhaven and walk along
tracks to Aireys Inlet. A bus will be provided to take participants from
Anglesea to Fairhaven. If you are interested coming, fill out the form
(click here), due Friday 9 October.

The walk starts at 10am Sunday 18 October, meet at the car park next to the
Anglesea Bowls Club.

I tested the walk last month, and it is really awesomely beautiful. The beach
is fantastic. The lighthouse is pretty cool. And the cuppa at Anglesea was
fantastic! Bit windy though, but the weather forecast for SUnday 18 October
is looking really good.

This event is supported by Deaf Victoria, DSRV, Green Door Auslan, and the
Auslan Company, Deaf Victoria will receive the registrations via MYCAUSE
online.

Any questions, feel free to ask. Hope to see you there! Remember, we are
fundraising for a very good cause.

cheers
