Hi Dave,
About the missing sprites file.
Firstly I'd assume it is called "sprites" not !sprites or variations
thereof.
The error message as C&P from the Reporter Log is:
Error : &000000D6
Message: File '<Obey$Dir>.Sprites' not found.
There seem to be Sprites and Sprites22 files. The latter will be used in
higher res screen modes. That opens the way for a bug that is screen
mode dependent.
You can have a missing Sprites file and won't see the error until you
run the program in a low res screen mode.
Both Emulators are running in 16 million colour modes.
Applets have these Sprites files, which means finding the missing file
may be difficult.
Yuh! don't say. ;-) See below.
The main OP program has a Sprites file in !OvnPro.!OvnResDir.UK
Checked that, okay
We could do to know the value of Obey$Dir when the error occurs. I don't
know how you get that.
Above my knowledge base...
The tedious way to find the problem is to do a search on !OvnPro for
Sprites22 then look which one of them does not have a Sprites with it.
The method I used was tedious, the elimination by testing...
As I'd looked at everything else, I went through the applets.
After a while the error message was generated by !MakeRTF.
I copied and renamed one of the !Sprite files within MakeRTF as just
Sprites (Without the Pling), tested again, and again, and indeed the
message is now absent.
Tested OvPro as a whole and still gone.
Why the missing was okay with RISC OS 6.20 but presented with 5.23, well
that's a matter for you RISC OS experts. :-)
Thanks for the prompts.
Regards
Dave
