I had the same problem when I first installed ASSP but I forget what caused it or maybe I never quite figured it out

I did have some problems with, for some reason, the wrong permissions on some files so ASSP couldn't read or write. Don't ask me how that happened - but it may be worth a check.

There is something not working around the localDomains or something I don't understand - I never did get the LDAP lookups to work nor can I seem to get the SMTP VRFY to work either. Our accounts don't change much so it isn't a big deal.

Make sure that you have EIMS set to allow VRFY

I do - I even telneted to it and it does respond

Weird, I have LDAP and VRFY working with EIMS 3.3.7
